Officially four weeks out from Spring, I decided yesterday to begin my journey with CoolSculpting.
As someone who always managed to stay in decent shape, an athletic build, and maintain a healthier lifestyle, in recent years I began to notice a plateau. I used to be extremely dedicated to fitness, to time spent in the gym, or just staying active. Despite what avid gym goers say, excuses become more prominent as life inevitably happens and takes over. I still remain someone who works out, but I am no longer a self-proclaimed “gym addict” as I was in my early twenties. I try to get myself to the gym three times a week if possible.

I loved the serene, tranquil ambiance that Just Melt has. It was super girly, and feminine, and elegant. From the colors to the smells, I was engulfed from the moment I walked in. I felt like a star receiving VIP treatment.

My CoolSculpting Procedure

I must admit when I first walked in, even though my mind was seemingly made up, I was a bit nervous and anxious. I had done my research but still felt a bit unsure. The technicians made me relax and eased all my concerns almost instantly. I was even offered a glass of wine to unwind before I was assessed.
The first step in the assessment was to identify my target area. I changed into a pair of loose fitting shorts that they provided me with and the technicians began to draw and circle where the applicator was going to be placed. I was assured my body type was ideal for coolsculpting. The technicians were extremely kind and understanding to the fact that this is every females worst nightmare; standing there letting it all hang out, while someone circles your fat!! Come on now… However, the technicians joked with me, told me about their experience and gave me constant reassurance and security.
Because of the region I selected, the procedure would take up to two full hours to complete. Each application/session was 60 minutes on each side and could not be done simultaneously.

I laid down on the “medbed” and a topical sheet was placed on the location being treated to numb the area, and the applicator was applied. It was cold, but not freezing. The initial suction was a big shock. It was a bit painful but did not last long. I must admit, I was in a bit of a panic at first, as the pain didn’t seem to ease up for about five minutes. The thought of that suction feeling lasting the entire hour was unbearable. The sensation slowly decreased and then I was in a complete comfort mode. I read magazines, played on my phone, caught up with work emails, and even took a little nap throughout each session. The technicians were wonderful as they periodically checked in on me and asked if I needed anything. They were also extremely informative as I asked questions throughout the procedure.

After a section was complete, the applicator was removed and I was left with what looked like a pocket of fat/stick of butter indication in my skin. This went away after two minutes of being massaged out by one of the technicians. The area was a little swollen, red, and tender, but very mild. I left feeling great, like I made the right choice to take the initiative and do something for myself that would provide the permanent results that I needed.
The next day, today, I woke up feeling a bit sore. The same feeling I have after an intense ab workout. I am looking forward to sharing with you the results and full review in weeks to come!
